New emission rules in low-emission zones

Currently, all Belgian low-emission zones (LEZ) are more or less subject to the same rules, but from 2025 this will no longer be the case. While cities such as Antwerp and Ghent are postponing their planned tightening, Brussels does implement the conditions, and Wallonia is introducing an LEZ throughout its territory for the first time. This jumble of different rules makes driving an older petrol or diesel car difficult and can even lead to fines.

Buying or leasing an electric car is the solution

Access to all low-emission zones: With an electric car, you don't have to worry about changing low-emission zone rules. Electric cars comply with the strictest environmental standards currently in force and in the future

💵 Saving on costs: Besides avoiding potential fines, owning an electric car also gives financial benefits. Electricity is cheaper on average than traditional fuels, which means you spend less on fuel per kilometre. Moreover, there are often tax breaks, subsidies and lower maintenance costs for electric cars, making the TCO (total cost of ownership) more profitable in the long term

🌍Environmental friendliness: Electric vehicles do not contribute to air pollution and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, so they also make a positive contribution to our environment.

With several Belgian regions implementing their own emissions rules for low-emission zones, driving an older petrol or diesel car is becoming increasingly difficult and can even lead to fines. Electric vehicles not only provide access to all low-emission zones in Belgium, but they also provide cost savings and reduce environmental impact.
